Build confidence together

The inner voice that accompanies us throughout our lives is formed from early childhood. We created these cards to help children build an inner voice that is kind and courageous.

In today's often fast-paced world, this set is a gentle support that allows a child to better understand their own inner world.

More than just cards: a tool for life

Understanding and talking about difficult feelings with your children is a challenge for every parent. These cards will help you navigate difficult conversations in a natural way.

  • 40 Affirmation Cards: Each card is accompanied by a gentle illustration of an animal, such as an otter, bee, or robin, that follows the text. The pictures help children understand phrases like "My body is my best friend" or "It's okay to make mistakes" and incorporate them into their everyday vocabulary.
  • 5 Mindfulness Games: Emotions are experienced in the body. That’s why we’ve added five activation cards, such as Grounding (Spy Game) and Calming (Superhero Breath). These games give kids simple physical tools, such as breathing out stress or finding their center.

A guide that grows with your child

  1. For the youngest (3–5 years): Storytelling and connection

Even if your child can't read yet, they'll love the illustrations of animals. Use the cards to tell little stories and connect them to what your child has experienced. When you look at the picture together and say, "I saw you being brave on the playground today, just like this badger," you're doing more than just reading the text. You're showing your child that you understand and appreciate them.

  2. For schoolchildren (6–10 years): A source of independence

As children grow older, the cards become a source of their own strength. A child can pull out a card before a test to give them courage, or use the Inner Weather game to understand their feelings after an argument with friends. This way, they learn to name their emotions and work with them on their own.

  3. For Parents: Your Daily Inspiration

This set isn't just for kids, it's an inspiration for you too. Use affirmations as a guide to how to speak to your child, building a shared vocabulary of kindness and respect. Whether you need to acknowledge their sadness or remind them of their strength, the cards will help you find the right words to shape their inner voice.

How to use children's affirmation cards? Small rituals for big change

You don't have to be a psychologist to use the cards correctly. The goal is not perfection or another "homework", but a moment of pause. Here are some tips for incorporating the cards into your daily life:

  • Connection Ritual (Morning Spark or Evening Calm): Have your child draw a card. Read it and let the words just sink in. This is a time to build confidence in your child in the simplest way possible – with your full attention.
  • Real-life mirroring: If your child pulls out the "I am brave" card, try saying to them during the day, "I see your bravery when you went to ask for help." This will connect the affirmation to their real life.
  • Anchor for Sensitive Children: Working with the body is key when raising highly sensitive children . Practice Mindfulness Game cards (like Ocean Wave Breath) in a calm, playful way. When a big emotion or overload comes, the body will remember this tool and calm down more easily.
  • Secret message: Want to make your child's day at school better? Hide a chosen card in their snack box or pencil case. It's a little reminder that you're thinking of them and that they can do it.
  • How to talk to kids about feelings: Not sure how to start a conversation after a tough day? Spread out the cards and let your child choose the one that best describes how they're feeling (e.g., "My inner weather"). It's a safe bridge to talk about what's bothering them.

Expertise and practice in one

These cards weren't just created in our office. We listened to the voices that matter most: parents, teachers, and people who have extensive experience with children.

Thanks to their insights, we have fine-tuned the cards to be not only a "nice gift", but also a useful tool for everyday life.

"In this project, I combined two key roles - the role of a mother and a doctor. We tuned the affirmations so that they were understandable for children, but at the same time had a depth that really works. I stand behind these cards with all my expertise and heart."

A few words from us

We all want to pass on the best things to our children, such as courage, kindness, and self-belief. But even when we know what we want to give them, in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it's not always easy to figure out how to do it.

When my godson was born, I reached out to the most qualified people, child psychologists, teachers, and parents, to see how I could help. During our conversations, I discovered that many of us (and even professionals) often struggle to find the right words. We all lacked that little spark that would help us do so.

We created these cards to be that spark. They are a bridge between you and your child and a simple tool to help you start important conversations. I hope the cards will help you build a foundation of trust and inner strength that will last a lifetime.

You often ask

  • From what age are the cards suitable?

They are a great companion for children from 3 years old. For the youngest, they work as a picture game, where a parent reads the affirmations aloud and they talk about them together. Children from 6 years old already like to read them themselves and use them as their own secret source of strength.
  • What is a “mindful game” and how is it played?

Emotions don't just live in the head, we experience them throughout our bodies. That's why, with the help of experts, we've selected 5 of the most effective techniques used by therapists and transformed them into games that even young children can understand.

We recommend using these special cards separately from the rest of the deck . Create a separate ritual for moments when things are "sparkling" at home, or vice versa, when you need deep calming.

Here's what exactly it can do:

    • Breath like a sea wave (Technique: Diaphragmatic breathing)
This is not just any breathing. Deep abdominal breathing is a physiological signal that literally switches the nervous system from “alarm” mode to “safety” mode. It’s one of the fastest ways to calm a racing heart and a restless mind.
When it helps: An ideal sleeping pill when your head is full of impressions, or to calm down after a lot of crying.

    • Superhero Breath (Technique: Regulating Strong Emotions)
Anger or anxiety is often felt as a huge surge of energy. This game teaches children not to deny this energy, but to safely “ground” it and gain control over it with a firm “hero” stance and a long exhale.
When it helps: When a child has "nerves on the march", before a challenging situation (doctor, first day at kindergarten) or when they need a boost of courage.

    • Spy Game (Technique: Grounding)
When the mind wanders or spins in a circle of worry, we need to bring it back “to the ground.” Engaging the 5 senses (looking for things I see, hear, feel...) acts as a reset button for an overloaded brain.
When it helps: During sensory overload (noise in a store), during an anxiety attack, or after a bad dream.

    • Treasure Hunt (Technique: Error Reformatting)
Mistakes often hurt and cause shame. This game turns “I messed up” into “I found a treasure.” It teaches children (and us adults) that mistakes are not failures, but valuable parts of learning.
When it helps: When something spills, breaks, or fails. It instantly relieves tension and fear of failure.

    • Inner Weather (Technique: Emotional Awareness)
Feelings are less scary when we can name them. This card teaches that no weather (emotion) is bad – sun, rain, and storm are all fine and will pass.
When it helps: In the morning to cheer you up, after school, or when your child is grumpy and doesn't know why.

Tip for parents: The goal of these games is not to "fix" feelings, but to learn to be with them. Try them calmly in a playful way - this will build muscle memory for the body to automatically reach for when a real emotional storm comes.

  • How are the cards made?

The cards are lovingly created here at GoodWays in Brno. They are printed on sturdy paper to withstand children's hands, and their content has been carefully consulted with experts to ensure it is safe and understandable for children's souls.
  • How to use cards every day?

Don't force it. The simplest ritual is to have your child pull out one card in the morning or before bed. Read it, ask what they think about it, or just be silent together. Over time, children will start to go and get the cards on their own, perhaps when they find the "treasure" in a mistake they made.
  • Are the cards also suitable for kindergarten or school?

Absolutely. The cards are a popular tool not only at home, but also in the hands of child psychologists and teachers. They work great for morning circles, moments of calm after lunch, or as a gentle tool for opening a debate about emotions in a group.
